Sarah was born in Hatfield, Hertfordshire in 1989 and has remained Hertfordshire based all her life. Her early musical education began on the piano, aged 7 and didn't start to learn the flute until aged 10.
Sarah gained a place at Birmingham Conservatoire to study in 2007. Her principal teacher at Conservatoire was Judith Hall, who pushed her as a flute player in every way but also as a rounded musician and person. Throughout her time at Conservatoire, she played for all the major ensembles including the Symphony Orchestra and Thallein Ensemble.
